S2 Ep.2 The Grief We Carry: Love, Loss & Learning to Live Alongside It With Mady Miles
In this episode of Owning Space, I sit down with Madalena (Mady) Miles, a feminine embodiment and somatic practitioner, to explore grief, bereavement and what it means to learn to live alongside loss.
Following the death of her brother by suicide, Mady shares her personal experience of grief and how profound loss can change our relationships, our priorities and our connection to ourselves and others.
We discuss the emotional and physical impact of grief, the guilt and complex feelings that can accompany bereavement, and why society often struggles to talk openly about death and loss. We also explore how to support someone who is grieving without trying to fix their pain or expecting them to heal on someone else's timeline.
Drawing on her work as a somatic practitioner, Mady reflects on the connection between grief and the body, and the importance of community, movement and shared spaces in navigating loss.
This is a deeply personal and honest conversation about grief, connection and learning to make space for loss in our lives
